Research Description Dr Christine Thisse is currently studying early development of the vertebrate embryo, using the zebrafish as a model system. Her focus is on the search of factors that instruct the cells to particular fates. She also studies how cells communicate with each other, how they migrate and divide to result at the end into well-shaped organs and organism. Her research is key to emerging field of regenerative medicine and stem cell biology, and has a high impact on our understanding of processes that lead to cancer.
